National Weather Service issues flash flood warning

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a flash flood warning for Geary County until 9 p.m. today.

The warning is also for northeastern Dickinson County and the south central portion of Riley County.

Weather officials are advising motorists not to drive into areas where water covers the road.

Today, the weather service's radar indicated very heavy rain over the warned area. Locations impacted included Junction City, Milford and Milford Lake.

This also includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 292 and 297.

A severe thunderstorm watch is also in effect until 11 p.m.
