Junction City issues water watch

Junction City has issued a water watch with voluntary use restrictions for the city's public water system users.

The city has seen a continuous increase in the overall water use throughout the community over the last seven consecutive days. This use has exceeded the limits per the city's municipal water conservation plan (MWCP).

This is the first of three stages of the city's MWCP. It's a voluntary measure in which the public is asked to voluntarily restrict their water uses so the city's water system is able to meet the necessary demands for fire flow and domestic uses. Such voluntary use restrictions include washing full loads of wash, monitoring one's plumbing for leaks, and curtailing outdoor watering of lawn areas.
